Common Allergens in Cosmetics – Cosmetic products (fragrances, soaps, lotions, balms, butters, waxes, face and eye make up, etc) can provoke allergic reactions in some people.
Many people suffer from lots of different types of allergies with allergies developing at any age. Allergic reactions are the immune systems overreaction to substances that may otherwise be harmless.
Many people are familiar with seasonal allergies such as Hay fever that can brought on by pollen from blooming flowers during the warm Summer months or from food allergies commonly linked to nuts.
Allergic reactions to cosmetics most often manifest as contact dermatitis or can appear as red itchy rashes on the skin.
