Cassiffix D IFF
Cassiffix is a synthetic aroma chemical developed by International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), renowned for its vibrant, non-sulfurous blackcurrant (cassis) character.
It possesses impressive diffusion and potency, imparting a fresh, sparkling, green juiciness to fragrances.
It offers a remarkable bloom that fills the room and pairs exceptionally well with natural Cassis notes.
Cassis notes play a crucial role in perfumery and are commonly linked to ingredients that contain a sulfur atom.
The accidental discovery of Cassiffix occurred during IFF R&D’s pursuit of creating new cyclic ethers with oxabicyclooctane structures, initially expecting an amber scent derived from the campholenic backbone. Ultimately, the structure of Cassiffix revealed a distinct Cassis aroma.
Among the limited number of long-lasting Cassis ingredients available, Cassiffix stands out as a noteworthy exception to the typical top note nature of Cassis scents.
Cassiffix is versatile and can be used in various fragrance types, including:
-
Red berry and tropical accords
-
Sweet, vanilla, and powdery formulations, where it imparts a gourmand feel
-
Citrus compositions, enhancing their brightness
It is commonly utilised in fine fragrances, shampoos, shower gels and other personal care products and stands out as a unique, long-lasting cassis ingredient, offering a non-sulfurous alternative to traditional blackcurrant notes in perfumery.
Its ability to enhance and brighten various fragrance profiles makes it a valuable component in modern fragrance design and a worthy contender to the classic Cassis Base 345B
It blends well with Ambrettolide, Delta Damascone and Cashmeran
