Fructone
Fructone is a ketal compound known for its fruity Pineapple, Strawberry, Apple and sweet tropical fruit notes; that gives a fragrance both body and tenacity.
It complements floral bases such as Jasmine, Tuberose and Gardenia, as well as spicy fragrances, providing interesting aromatic enhancements and exhibiting similarities to the alkyl-substituted Cyclo-pentenones, making it a versatile option in perfumery.
Possessing a strong fragrance; it is often described as being wine-like or having an odour not to disimilar to that of cooked strawberries.
The scent of strawberries can be achieved using Aldehyde C16, also known as ‘Strawberry Glycidate’ although it primarily smells like apples, but to truly realise the essence of Strawberry; we suggest combining Fructone with Ethyl Maltol and for Wild Strawberries; add Methyl Anthranilate into the mix.
When combined with Frambinone and Beta Ionone, you can effectively re-create the illusion of the smell of Raspberries. Adding Cis-3-Hexenol can provide a sour, green quality, while Geraniol offers a taste reminiscent of lipstick.
Fructone is a valued contributor when it comes to recreating the scent of Apples. For Green Apples, combine Fructone with Cis-3-Hexenal and Benzyl Acetate. For Red Apples, combine with Hexyl Acetate and Benzyl Acetate and for Yellow Apples, combine with Hexyl Acetate and Allyl Caproate.
Highly valued in perfume compositions as it adds a deep-fruity note along with a floral complex.
