Beeswax, a natural substance produced within beehives, originates from wax glands found in the abdomen of worker bees when they reach a specific stage of development. These glands secrete small, transparent wax scales that emerge from the gaps between the abdomen rings. Over time, the initially colorless beeswax gains its distinctive golden hue through exposure to pollen and honey. The wax scales play a crucial role in constructing the honeycomb within the hive and are employed to seal cells filled with honey. 

It’s prized in perfumery and high-end natural skincare for its deep, warm scent and unique fixative properties. It adds a creamy, honeyed, slightly smokey warmth to blends.

It’s richer and more complex than regular beeswax, with a subtle animalic undertone.
