Benzophenone Crystals
Benzophenone Crystals; an organic compound that belongs to the class of ketones, is a crystallised mild smelling solid in its raw form.
If you are not comfortable working with Benzophenone in its raw form, we provide a pre-dissolved solution in DPG at 10% here for your convenience.
At room temperature, Benzophenone has an extremely low vapour pressure and so its effect upon a fragrance becomes really apparent in compositions at higher temperatures or when combined with lower boiling point ingredients.
The material is however; an extremely good fixative for rose and other floral notes, and whilst it is most useful in hot applications like candles and bath oils, it is still used extensively in perfumes for its sweet, powdery, geranium-like notes.
Widely used in sunscreens and other cosmetic products as an ultraviolet (UV) light absorber, helping to protect the skin from UV radiation.
