Myrcene
Myrcene is a naturally occurring organic compound classified as a monoterpene.
It is commonly found in various plants and herbs and is especially abundant in hops, cannabis, thyme, lemongrass, and mangoes.
The fragrance of Myrcene is invigorating, quite citrus-like, yet richly balsamic and delicately sweet.
It’s purpose is to introduce a spicy, revitalising element and enhance the sophistication of citrus and spice-based colognes and perfumes.
Myrcene serves as an intermediate for producing Lyral, Linalool, hydrocarbon compounds, spices, perfumes, and deodorants.
Myrcene is one of the most prevalent terpenes in many cannabis strains. It is often associated with the “couch-lock” effect in indica-dominant strains.
It also contributes to the aroma profile of beer, especially in dry-hopped varieties and in Mangoes, trace amounts may be responsible for the fruit’s unique scent, which is why Mrycene is an essential component in the recreation of Mango accords.
