Ethyl Lactate
Ethyl Lactate is a colourless liquid, miscible with water, soluble in alcohol and oils. It is unusually fruity and buttery at the same time.
It is the Ethyl Ester of Lactic Acid. It has a mild, fruity odour and occurs naturally in small amounts in some food products.
Use to add realism to white floral and fruity compositions.
Ethyl Lactate is naturally occurring in cocoa and a variety of fruits, wine and other alcoholic beverages.
It’s mild, ethereal buttery odour may blend well with certain types of fragrance, but its essential in the creation of fragrances that evoke the presence of alcoholic drink notes.
Occasionally used as a solvent in perfume compositions because the aqueous solution decomposes slowly.
