Agarwood Oud EO India
Agar wood, also known as Oud, Aloeswood, Eaglewood, or Gharuwood, is a highly valued product across South East Asia and in Indian-North Eastern culture.
This precious material originates from the heartwood of Aquilaria trees, which undergo a unique process when infected by a specific mold known as Phialophora parasitica.
Naturally, the heartwood of these trees is devoid of any odor, relatively light, and displays a pale color. However, as the infection progresses, the tree responds by producing a remarkable dark aromatic resin called aloes.
The essential oil, is not to be confused with other similar-sounding substances such as Aloe ferox and offers numerous therapeutic benefits due to its specific chemical composition.Â
Oud essential oil is cultivated from a highly fragrant dark resinous wood by way of steam distillation that finds its applications in incense and perfume.
With its rich cultural significance and therapeutic properties, this material makes an exceptional addition to any fragrance or wellness routine.
With its dense and dark qualities, oud brings a touch of luxury and sophistication to any fragrance or cosmetic product.
It exhibits properties such as being anti-rheumatic, anti-stress, antimicrobial, carminative, anti-asthmatic, antioxidant, analgesic, diaphoretic, digestive, anti-convulsant, psychoactive and aphrodisiac.
According to Ayurvedic tradition, this oil not only illuminates the mind but also strengthens the power of thought.
It has the ability to elevate one’s emotional quotient and can be used during meditation to embark on a journey towards spiritual enlightenment.
It’s remarkable qualities make this essential oil a valuable addition to various wellness practices and rituals.
