It’s a synthetic fragrance molecule known for its warm, woody, musky, and slightly sweet scent.

It is widely used in perfumery as a modern replacement for natural ambergris, which was historically derived from sperm whales.

Ambroxan adds a unique ‘effect’ to any perfume. Clean, crisp with a powdery depth; reminiscent of clean laundry.

Ambroxan is a crystallised solid in its pure form and concentrations of 10% and over can re-crystallise at room temperature, making it difficult to work with so here we provide a pre-dissolved solution in DPG for your convenience. We have a 10% solution available here or the pure crystal form available here if you prefer to work with the solid form of this material.

For the untrained nose, Ambroxan may be difficult to detect in isolation.
