Canarium Luzonicum Gum Oil

Our Signature Elemi Oil is a luminous resinous material with the brightness of citrus peel, the lift of green pepper and the sacred warmth of pale incense.

Distilled from the aromatic gum of Canarium trees, it opens with a sparkling lemon-terpene freshness before unfolding into peppered woods, soft balsam and a clean, incense-like drydown.

In composition, Elemi sits beautifully between citrus, woods, resins and modern amber structures.

It brings lift and diffusion to frankincense, myrrh, olibanum, galbanum, lavender, herbs, spices and dry woody accords, adding a polished natural radiance without becoming heavy or overly sweet.

Used with restraint, it can sharpen a citrus top note, brighten an aromatic heart, or give resinous compositions a more transparent, contemporary edge.

Its character is fresh yet ancient, airy yet balsamic: a refined raw material for perfumers seeking brightness, texture and quiet ceremonial depth.

Although often classified as an incense material, Elemi behaves much more like a radiant bridge between citrus and resins.

It adds sparkle, diffusion and transparency to heavy resinous compositions, preventing them from becoming dense or smoky.

For that reason, many perfumers use it as a “natural top-lifter” rather than simply as another resin.

Typically used at 0.10–0.50% of the fragrance concentrate.

Most compositions benefit from around 1%, while incense and resinous accords may employ 2% for greater impact.
