Ambrarome Absolu
Synarome, now part of NACTIS, has been producing Ambrarome Absolu; a distinctive specialty ingredient derived from Cistus ladaniferus gum-resin since 1926 and was introduced as an alternative to Ambergris Tincture.
This ingredient is highly valuable in various fragrance types, particularly amber, incense, and chypre, due to its strong animalic scent resembling that of ambergris.
Despite its cost, it is cost-effective as only a small amount is needed to achieve a significant effect.
Typically, it is used below 1% of the fragrance concentrate.
Synarome recommends it as a substitute for ambergris tincture, where a 1% solution of Ambrarome is equivalent to a 2.5% ambergris tincture.
Widely used as a fixative, it also contributes to the development of fragrance notes.
