Benzophenone
Benzophenone is a crystallised mild smelling solid in its pure form. If you are not comfortable working with Benzophenone in its pure form, we provide a pre-dissolved solution in DPG at 10% here for your convenience.
At room temperature, Benzophenone has an extremely low vapour pressure and so its effect upon a fragrance becomes really apparent in compositions at higher temperatures or when combined with lower boiling point ingredients.
Benzophenone is however; an extremely good fixative for rose and other floral notes, and whilst it is most useful in hot applications like candles and bath oils, it is still used extensively in perfumes for its sweet, powdery, geranium-like notes.
