Cedrol CRYS Acetate 10
Cedrol CRYS Acetate is a powerful fixative with a tenacious, dry, woody, cedar scent and a subtle leathery quality.
It is usually found in the form of white/translucent crystals.
According to Arctander, it has a woody, slightly leathery aroma with an earthy undertone, similar to Vetiver Acetate.
Cedrol CRYS Acetate is a great choice for adding a consistent woody note to a fragrance without the distinctive character of a woody essential oil like Virginian or Atlas Cedar oil.
It also lacks the terpenic top note that can be found in some woody essential oils.
By complementing other woody materials, it enhances and prolongs the woody scent without overpowering it.
Additionally, it can be used to add a subtle woody background to fragrances where a dominant woody note is not desired.
In citrus, herbal, and spicy formulations, it performs exceptionally well.
It is a great addition to candle fragrances when combined with vertenex, as it provides a woody note without causing wick-clogging issues that some resinous essential oils may have.
The typical usage range for this product in fragrance formulas is between 1% and 10%.
