Artemisia Pallens Flower Extract

Davana Oil is one of perfumery’s most intriguing natural materials, prized for its rich, fruit-laced warmth and distinctive herbal complexity.

Steam distilled from Artemisia pallens, this precious oil opens with an unusual burst of ripe berry, dried apricot and dark fruit before revealing a liquorous, balsamic heart with soft green, hay-like and tea-like undertones.

Its character is opulent, diffusive and highly recognisable: sweet yet aromatic, fruity yet earthy, with a warm ambered depth that can bring sensuality, natural richness and individuality to fine fragrance compositions.

Davana is especially valued for the way it behaves differently on the skin, giving it a chameleon-like quality that can add depth and intrigue to both natural and modern perfume structures.

Use Davana Oil to enrich fruity accords, amber compositions, chypres, florals, tobacco-style accords, tea notes, herbal blends and natural perfume bases.

In trace amounts it can add lift, warmth and a dark fruity glow; at higher levels it becomes a bold signature material with unmistakable liquorous, herbal and dried-fruit character.

Use carefully; Davana can easily dominate a blend. It is highly distinctive and can be very powerful in composition.

We recommend evaluating this material at a low dilution of around 2% before use in fragrance formulations, as even trace amounts can introduce a pronounced fruity, herbal, liquorous and balsamic character.
