Ethyl Butyrate
Ethyl Butyrate can be found in the odours of several different fruits, though distinctively pineapple in character.
Naturally present in Strawberry, Mango, Orange Juice and Grapefruit.
Ethyl Butyrate is both powerful and extremely diffusive. Too much however will evoke a vomit like odour, but will add a lift and freshness to floral and oriental fragrances in smaller amounts.
This ester has occasionally been used in minute traces in perfume compositions for its warm fruity effect in Rose and other floral bases. It is also used as a masking agent for industrial fragrances.
