Vanilla Bourbon Absolute AO Madagascar
Vanilla Planifolia
Vanilla Absolute Bourbon is a premium vanilla derived from Vanilla planifolia beans, typically sourced from Madagascar and extracted using a solvent method to yield a highly concentrated, rich aromatic product.
The term “Bourbon” refers not to the whiskey but to the Bourbon Islands (including Madagascar, Réunion, and Comoros), where these vanilla beans are traditionally cultivated.
It has a deep, warm, sweet and creamy aroma with rich caramel, balsamic, and sometimes smoky or woody undertones.
Compared to standard vanilla extracts, Vanilla Bourbon Absolute is much more intense, resinous, and complex, resulting in a highly concentrated absolute that retains a wide range of the bean’s aromatic compounds, including vanillin, coumarin and other trace volatiles.
Vanilla Absolute is used primarily as a base note or fixative in fine fragrances due to its richness and longevity.
Valued for its comforting, calming, and aphrodisiac aromatherapy properties.
Not to be confused with Vanilla extract that is alcohol-based and typically used in cooking, Vanilla Bourbon Absolute is far more potent, viscous and primarily used in perfumery and cosmetics.
