Dihydromyrcenol
Dihydromyrcenol is a synthetic fragrance compound widely used in perfumes, personal care products and household items.
It belongs to the family of acyclic monoterpene alcohols and is known for its fresh, citrusy, and slightly floral scent, often compared to lime, bergamot, and lavender.
Uses & Applications:
- Perfumery: Commonly used in colognes and fresh, clean-smelling fragrances.
- Personal Care Products: Found in soaps, shampoos, deodorants, and body washes.
- Household Products: Used in detergents and air fresheners for its strong, lasting freshness.
- Blending: Often combined with citrus, lavender, and woody notes to enhance brightness.
Dihydromyrcenol is highly valued for its ability to impart a modern, clean, and refreshing character to fragrances, making it a staple in many “blue” or “aquatic” colognes and commercial scents.
It has fresh cool metallic lime citrus floral bergamot notes almost ubiquitous of mens Creed fragrances as well as being prevalent in many other mainstream creations such as Cool Water, Eternity, Polo Sport and Drakkar Noir etc.
When added to a feminine style fragrance Dihydro Myrcenol helps give the fragrance a unisex non-binary character.
Powerful, fresh Lime like material with a floral, citrus and sweet odour and little to no terpenic undertones.
