Heliotropex
Sweet, Balsam, Heliotrope, Cherry, Anisic
About this material
This material is the perfect alternative to Heliotropin. It has a vanilla like balsamic fragrance with floral and spicy undertones.
Widely used in perfumery and a welcomed alternative for the Perfumer, due to Heliotropin being difficult to obtain for most due to its marketing authorisation restrictions.
Less likely to cause discolouration and easier to use; Heliotropex can be used to replace Heliotropin on a like for like basis in most fragrance compositions at a 15% concentration; which is what we have available here.
Commonly used in fine fragrances, cosmetics, and personal care products
Provides a long-lasting, soft, and warm floral impression and is often used to enhance floral compositions, adding a creamy and slightly gourmand nuance.

Fragrance allergen reference
Generic regulatory reference only. This is not a supplier allergen declaration, measured composition, allergen-free claim or finished-product labelling assessment.
Raw-material reference based on recorded CAS numbers. A CAS match identifies a reference entry; it does not verify the supplied grade, composition, purity or finished-product compliance. Naturals, bases and mixtures require composition review.
European Union / Northern Ireland
No direct listed-entry CAS match in this jurisdiction’s held reference set. This does not mean the material is allergen-free. Constituents, grouped entries and natural-material composition may require further review.
Finished-cosmetic declaration thresholds: greater than 0.001% leave-on; greater than 0.01% rinse-off. Apply the current target-market rules to the actual complete formulation; no concentration is inferred here.

Creative ideas to explore
Creative directions, not tested formulas.Resin and air
With bergamot and a dry wood outlineExplore a resinous sketch with a bright opening and a deliberately spare base. Compare a citrus-led version with the resin reference, deciding whether the contrast opens up the idea or competes with the character you want to feature.
Petals and balsam
With rose and soft floral notesSet the resinous material around a familiar rose accord. Compare the flower alone with the resin variation and follow the developing balance, looking for the relationship between petal character and the material’s own listed texture.
A warm amber sketch
With vanilla and smooth wood directionsTry vanilla and soft wood as two separate settings for the resinous character. Compare their effect on the imagined amber structure before combining them, keeping sweetness a deliberate choice rather than an automatic part of every resin idea.
