About this material
Cashmeran Velvet by International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) is a masterful synthetic fragrance ingredient that embodies the art of modern perfumery.
Crafted to enrich compositions with luxuriant depth and sensual warmth, it bridges rich amber, woody and musk families in a way that feels both contemporary and timeless.
At first impression, Cashmeran Velvet delivers a bold yet velvety onset — a fusion of spicy woody accords that melt into a sumptuous musk base.
Its sophisticated character is perfect for high‑end perfumes that demand complexity without overpowering; it enhances floral bouquets, enriches ambers and supports rich oriental trails with unmatched subtlety.
Designed for the discerning perfumer and luxury fragrance house, this ingredient fosters compositions that are deep, sensual and enduring.
Powerful and expansive — delivering a strong, luxurious presence with exceptional diffusion in compositions.
A premium ingredient for fine perfumery, luxury eau de parfums, exclusives and artistic blends.
Ideal as a base or heart enhancer in woody, amber, musk or floral compositions.
Long‑lasting and persistent — supporting rich dry‑downs and sustained scent trails.
Whether you’re creating a signature scent or elevating an artisanal blend, Cashmeran Velvet offers an intoxicating foundation that whispers elegance and luxury.
Compared to Cashmeran:
Cashmeran® by IFF is one of perfumery’s most iconic synthetic building blocks — known for its multi‑dimensional woody‑musk‑amber aura, complex depth, and signature “cashmere‑like” texture that adds personality and richness to fragrances.
Cashmeran® Velvet refines that core DNA, creating a smoother, rounder and more luxurious experience that works beautifully as a foundation for elegant compositions — especially in fine EDPs and luxury blends where sophistication and soft diffusion are priorities.
In short: Cashmeran Velvet elevates the original Cashmeran’s warmth and smoothness, offering a more refined backbone for premium perfumes.

Creative ideas to explore
Creative directions, not tested formulas.A petal backdrop
With rose and a simple floral accordExplore the musk material as a setting for a familiar flower. Compare the flower alone and the musk variation through the evaluation, focusing on the texture you perceive and whether the flower remains distinct against its new backdrop.
Quiet woods
With sandalwood and transparent woodsBuild a spare wood-and-musk study with only a few moving parts. Compare soft and dry wood directions separately, then choose the combination whose balance feels closest to your intended outline instead of adding every appealing note.
Clean brightness
With bergamot and an airy floral ideaTry a brighter musk direction with citrus as the opening contrast. Assess it beside a matching reference without the citrus, noting how the clean, floral or woody aspects you actually perceive develop over the evaluation.

Daljit Banga (verified owner) –
Velvet is smoother than regular Cashmeran, there isn’t that sharp top bite as you get from the regular. Definitely slightly more richer. Me personally prefer the regular variant of Cashmeran. The only advantage is semi solid – so only a gentle warming is needed.
