Vetivert Java

Dark, earthy and deeply grounding, Vetivert is a powerful base note material valued for its dry woody character, smoky depth and long-lasting presence.

Its profile is bold and rugged, opening with dense rooty-earthy facets before revealing dry woods, subtle smoke, mineral darkness and leathery undertones.

Compared with smoother vetiver styles, Vetivert has a more assertive and textured character, making it ideal where strength, dryness and natural depth are required.

In perfumery, Vetivert is used to anchor compositions and bring structure, maturity and persistence.

It works beautifully in masculine fragrances, woody accords, chypres, orientals, leather compositions, incense blends and smoky niche creations.

Used sparingly, it adds dryness, texture and earthy sophistication. Used more prominently, it can form the backbone of a fragrance, giving weight, shadow and an unmistakably refined natural character.

Vetivert is especially useful for creating perfumes with depth and longevity, lending a distinctive rooty, smoky and woody signature that remains present long into the drydown.
